MLB fans can expect the iconic jerseys for the New York Yankees to look slightly different this upcoming season.
The Yankees are reportedly making a minor tweak to their road uniforms for the 2024 season to look similar to a concept they wore in the 1970s.

The team is getting rid of the white outline around the navy blue “New York” letters and numbers on its grey road jerseys.
The Yankees will also ditch the navy blue and white sleeve trim on the jersey, according to a report from Uni Watch.
New York will debut the new jerseys officially on March 28, when they open up the 2024 season in Houston to face the Astros.
This small change will mark as the biggest alteration to the Yankees’ uniform since they transitioned from flannels in 1973.
The change is speculated to be a “legacy move” to mimic the decades during the flannel era.
The only other recent jersey changes occurred in the last five years.
The Yankees added a Nike swoosh to the chest of their jerseys in 2020 and a Starr Insurance patch to their sleeves in 2023.
Despite the changes to the road jerseys, the home uniforms will continue to feature the iconic pinstripes.
New York is looking to have a bounce-back season after finishing fourth in the AL East at 82-80 last season and missing the playoffs.
The team traded for star slugger Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres during the offseason with the hope of him boosting an offense that struggled with consistency last season.
New York finished 29 out of 30 MLB franchises in team batting average at .227 while landing in the top 10 for home runs last season.
The Yankees start the 2024 season with seven straight road games against the Astros and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
