NFL star Russell Wilson was stunned to learn his wife Ciara is related to baseball royalty.
The pop star and model found out she is a distant cousin of New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter.

Ciara was given the surprise addition to her family tree during an appearance on The Today Show earlier this week.
She took part in the 10th series of Finding Your Roots, with host Henry Louis Gates Jr. revealing the surprising link.
He told Ciara she shares with Jeter “a long identical stretch of DNA on their 14th chromosome.”
Ciara gasped in response: “What in the world? You are kidding me. Derek Jeter! That’s crazy.”
Denver Broncos quarterback Wilson took to social media shortly after to comment on his new relative.
He laughed on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Always knew it!”
Fans were also quick to weigh in on the revelation, with one writing: “Winning DNA.”
Another said: “Russell, they, like you, are absolutely beautiful people, so I can see that!”
While a third joked: “Wilson to the Yankees confirmed.”
Jeter is an MLB legend and won five World Series with the Yankees, where he spent the entirety of his 20-year career.
NFL quarterback Wilson and Ciara married in 2016 and have three children together, with baby Amora arriving last month.
The veteran QB was recently benched by the Broncos in a shock move.
Wilson signed a five-year contract with Denver estimated to be $245 million in 2022.
