MAJOR League Baseball bosses are ready to make a huge switch to the World Series schedule.
The showpiece series could be moved after the New York Yankees took a 2-0 series lead over the Cleveland Guardians.
Broadcasters Fox are prepared to rip up their TV schedule to make way for an earlier-than-planned World Series.
For the first time in history, the MLB has added the possibility of moving the series forward.
Game 1 is currently slated for Friday, October 25 live on Fox with Game 2 a day later at the same venue.
The series then switches to the other team’s stadium for Game 3, 4 and 5 on consecutive nights from Monday, October 28 to Wednesday, October 30.
Game 6 and Game 7 are currently slated for Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2 respectively if they’re required.
But the MLB’s official website has outlined a potential scenario where the series could start on Tuesday, October 22 – three days early.
That would then bring a potential Game 7 forward to Wednesday, October 30 rather than stretch into November.
For a change to happen, both League Championship Series would have to conclude by this Saturday at the latest.
The New York Yankees are on course for American League Championship Series victory over the Cleveland Guardians.
New York took a 2-0 lead with Tuesday’s win in the Bronx and head to Cleveland for Games 3, 4 and 5.
If the Yankees win two of the three games between now and Saturday, October 19, they will book their spot in the World Series.
That would also avoid a the series returning to New York, with Game 6 and Game 7 currently scheduled for Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22 respectively.
But for the World Series to begin early – the National League Championship Series would need to be finished by Friday night.
The New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers are locked at 1-1 after two games in California.
The teams headed across the country for Games 3, 4 and 5 at Citi Field in New York.

Game 1 - Friday, October 25
Game 2 – Saturday, October 26
Game 3 – Monday, October 28
Game 4 – Tuesday, October 29
Game 5 – Wednesday, October 30
Game 6 – Friday, November 1
Game 7 – Saturday, November 2
And if one team manages to win all three of those games – the series will be over before a potential return to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Game 6 and 7 in Los Angeles are scheduled for Sunday, October 20 and Monday, October 21 respectively if they’re needed.
If the World Series is moved forward – the off days will also be changed.
They are currently scheduled to be Sunday, October 27 and Thursday, October 31.
But the MLB website states that the off days would be moved to Thursday, October 24, and Monday, October 28.
