PAUL Skenes continued his incredible start to life in MLB Monday.
The Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher, 22, struck out seven over six innings in a 4-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

“He’s gonna look good in Yankee pinstripes,” one posted on X.
“Skenes is gonna really gonna help the Yankees in a couple years,” added another.
“I feel terrible for Paul Skenes, shame he’ll have his career wasted in Pittsburgh, wait til he wins a World Series with the Yankees, a third posted.”
No. 1 overall pick Skenes and girlfriend Olivia Dunne, 21, are making plenty of headlines for the MLB right now.
And the Yankees will definitely be keeping tabs on the rising star.
Looking across at the NFL, the marketing potential of a power couple has been made clear by Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.
Skenes made clear that he wanted to be a five-pitch pitcher in spring training.
And he was forced to dig deep into his arsenal yesterday.
He allowed a home run in the first inning for the first time in seven starts as the Reds targeted his fastball.
“Early on, we were really trying to be ready for his fastball,” manager David Bell explained.
“Obviously, he has a good fastball. I thought we did a good job with that in the first inning.”
But Skenes mixed things up with plenty of curveballs and splinkers to enjoy another productive night.
“It was truly a five-pitch game today,” said Skenes.
“I used all five pitches. It’s definitely fun to be able to pitch like that and play a little bit more of the mind games with them.
DUNNE AND SKENES' SUMMER OF LOVE
Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes managed to keep their relationship a secret before finally going public last summer.
The pair met at LSU, but it’s not clear when they started dating.
Rumors of a romance began when Dunne watched LSU win the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska last summer.
And Dunne then posted selfies from Fort Myers in Florida, where Skenes was playing.
He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and began his pro career by playing in minor leagues in the Sunshine State.
The final clue came when Dunne posed in a Pirates cap before the pair finally went public.
“It’s literally just getting to a position where I have to use them, to an extent, to where I have to use all five of my pitches.
“That’s where I was today. There are days when I can’t use a pitch.
“Today it was one of those days where I kind of had to use all five pitches to get through it.”
“I think as he continues to grow, we see the ability to use weapons,” Pirates manager Derek Shelton said.
With Skenes looking like a superstar already and Dunne racking up endorsements, the sky’s the limit for the pair.
