DISGRACED MLB star Trevor Bauer took the mound against the New York Yankees on Sunday and shocked the baseball world.
Trevor Bauer hasn’t pitched in MLB since 2021 and suited up for Diablos Rojos del Mexico, a professional team in the Mexican League.

The Yankees traveled to Mexico for an exhibition game, which Bauer saw as a perfect opportunity to show he still has what it takes to pitch against MLB talent.
Bauer pitched three scoreless innings against the Yankees, a good day on paper, but he did navigate some trouble during the start.
The former Los Angeles Dodger allowed four hits and two walks, an average of two baserunners per inning, but did strike out three batters.
Also, Bauer didn’t face anywhere close to the full version of the Yankees’ lineup. Notable Bronx Bombers to make the trip to Mexico were Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Volpe, Jose Trevino, and Oswaldo Cabrera, and relievers Victor Gonzalez and Jonathan Loaisiga.
Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, and the entire pitching rotation were not present for the matchup.
Still, Bauer hopes that the scoreless display against the Yankees is enough to get MLB eyes back on him.
He admitted that signing up with Diablos Rojos was for the exposure of playing against the Yankees.
Obviously, he’s got great stuff. I thought we were putting up pretty good at-bats against him. We couldn’t break through.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone on Trevor Bauer
“It was definitively part of the decision,” Bauer said.
“I thought it’d be fun to pitch against the Yankees and make some content to entertain the fans. I want to play baseball. I have fun doing it.”
Yankees manager Aaron Boone admitted after the game that Bauer looked good on the mound, and that his squad couldn’t get anything going.
“I thought his stuff looked good to me,” Boone said.
“Obviously, he’s got great stuff. I thought we were putting up pretty good at-bats against him. We couldn’t break through.”

In 2021, Bauer came under investigation by MLB for domestic violence claims, and would eventually serve a 194-game suspension for the offense.
While no official rulings have been made in court, Bauer’s alleged victims continue to maintain their story.
It appears that MLB teams haven’t seen enough evidence to clear Bauer of any wrongdoing and continue to deny him any chance of playing in the major leagues.
Instead of pitching in MLB, Bauer moved to Nippon Professional Baseball, the major leagues in Japan, where he pitched for the Yokohama Bay Stars.
He found success and popularity in the league, pitching to a 2.76 ERA, one of the best figures of his career, and tossing 160 strikeouts in 156.2 innings pitched.
This year, he will likely remain with Diablos Rojos or return to NPB as he will not be signed into MLB.
Five key MLB rule changes in 2024
1. The pitch clock is reduced from 20 to 18 seconds with runners on base. It will remain at 15 seconds with bases empty.
2. When a pitching change is made, the innings timer will reset to 2:00 rather than 2:15 like it did last year.
3. Teams will only be allowed four mound visits per game in 2024, down from five last season.
4. Fielders and defenders blocking bases will be called for obstruction by referees.
5. The runners’ lane from home plate to first base has been widened to include the dirt between the grass and the white line.
