The 6-foot-6 Stanton, who was listed at 245 pounds last season, looked noticeably thinner when he reported to the Yankees’ spring training facilities in Tampa, Florida this week.

Fans were stunned to see the Yankees designated hitter in a clip with superstar Aaron Judge.

Both greeted each other on the outfield grass as fans commented about Stanton’s slimmer physique.

One said, “Best shape indeed.”

Another added, “Maintaining health is important.”

A third stated, “My guy’s ready. Need him healthy.”

Stanton told reporters that his offseason workouts were of the “movement-based” variety and added that his goal was to “be a baseball player again.”

“I just needed to be more mobile,” he said. A lot of setbacks [last season] kept me not moving the way I’d like to be.”

The 14-year veteran Stanton, who has 402 career home runs, revealed he did more running during the offseason and said “there will be some changes” to his swing.

Stanton’s body transformation comes after a brutal 2023 season in which he batted .191 with a .691 OPS, both career-lows, in 101 games.

He missed six weeks due to a hamstring strain and has eclipsed 110 games just once since 2019.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has taken notice of Stanton’s lower-body injuries.

He said during the offseason that, “He’s going to wind up getting hurt again more likely not because it seems to be part of his game.”

Stanton responded to Cashman’s strong words on Monday, saying, “He knows my reaction to that.”

The slugger has four years left on his contract with $98 million owed to him by New York.

He’ll be on a Yankees team that has championship aspirations and features 2023 AL Cy Young pitcher Gerrit Cole, 2022 AL MVP Judge, and newcomer star Juan Soto.
